I'm excited to introduce a new model in my line-up, it's the SN*22 electric guitar. It has 22 frets, the neck joins at the body at the 16th fret, and it shares many of the details of my original set neck guitar. Here is the new model in a transparent sage green!

Big news for the new year - we are pleased and honored to have Timothy Carbone of Railroad Earth as an endorsee!! He came by the shop during a three night gig at the Orange Peel and picked out the ruby red Gigmaster. I can't wait to hear him play it!

I will soon be leaving to attend the Acoustic Guitar Meeting in Sarzana, Italy. I will be introducing my new ukuleles and attending a 3 day work shop with Kevin Ryan and Richard Hoover.

I'm back in the shop after the Montreal Guitar Show and a week at the beach. The Show was great and a special thanks to all the staff at the MGS. It was great to see old friends, meet new luthiers, and see some amazing guitars!

I spent the morning with Akira Satake, talking about electric banjos, tone and art. He is an amazing talent and he graciously played one of my electric banjos. Please play the video to the left to hear the amazing sound!

Just got back from the Montreal Guitar Show and what an experience. It was an incredible trip,

I hope that everyone enjoyed the holidays and that their new year is off to a great start. There is a lot going on in the shop. The inlaid headplates are back, I have an expanded wood collection, fingerboards are ready to be milled, and ... we are just about ready to introduce a new model. Stay tuned!
I would also like to introduce two more endorsees, Mr. Lee Divico of Gas House Mouse and Mr. Jesse Langlais of Town Mountain. More information will follow when they are highlighted on the Endorsement Page.

Widman Custom Electrics was proud to help sponsor the Will Ray Mountain Jam with the Sons of Ralph this October. This weekly event takes place at the Fletcher Feed and Seed, and gives everyone a chance to get up and play with Asheville's finest. A guitar was provided each week for people to play. We look forward to continuing our support of the local music scene.

One other bit of very exciting news! We are featured in Vintage Guitar Magazine this month. Check out the Builder's Profile in the January edition, it's at the news stand now.
We are starting our next batch of instruments. Some beautiful curly maple arrived last week. More wood is scheduled to be delievered next week. I'll try and get some photos of this inspiring wood soon..
